Training Thoughts and Updates-
- My race report published last week has quickly become one of our most viewed posts of the year. If you missed it, the report reviewed my experiences following the polarized training model and low carb, high fat diet while training for a 70.3.
- I'm still working on my "Best Advice of 2019" post... if you have any articles or feedback that you believe should be included please send it my way.
Gear That Caught Our Attention-
Quote that Struck a Chord-
If You Have a Moment to Spare-
Speaking of outstanding engineering and ingenuity: AlphaGo
is a surprisingly suspenseful man vs machine documentary. A UK-based team work to create an artificial intelligence machine that can challenge and beat the best Go
players in the world. An interesting insight I had after watching the film is that the more we live with and develop advance technology the more we cherish the very things that make us human- our flaws, our vulnerability, our tendency to make mistakes, and our courage to keep going even when the odds are stacked against us. It's the same with training and technology: the more we embrace and use power meters, heart rate monitors, sweat-sensors, etc, the more important it becomes to not lose touch with our the most basic feedback mechanisms that nature gave each and every one of us.
Have a great week!
