Torrenzo Bozzone is back in form; Bogus Basin Nordic ski lodge open for business; Japanese Keirin racing
Hi all,
I have a favor to ask: your feedback means a lot to me, and as we approach the end of the year I'd like to highlight the best advice, gear, articles, podcast, quotes, etc that you enjoyed this season. Please send me an email with your thoughts and insight. The goal is to create a "Best of 2018" season ending email based on your feedback.
Now down to business, here is your weekly TT Times update:
Weekend Race Report-
- Torrenzo Bozzone won 70.3 Western Sydney yesterday. Torrenzo was having an amazing season earlier this year (winning 4 races in a row), before being hit and nearly killed by a logging truck while training on his bike. It's great to see him back to good form.
- The 3-day Ultraman World Championships finished up on Sunday, with Richard Thompson and Tara Norton taking top honors. Athletes complete a grueling 10k swim, 261m bike, and double marathon on the Big Island of Hawaii over the course of 3 days. No thank you...
Events We're Looking Forward To-
The Bogus Basin Nordic Center opened this weekend. I made it up to test out the snow yesterday, and there's enough coverage to ski the main trails and get in a quality workout.
Training Thoughts and Updates-
Nordic skiers regularly record the highest V02 numbers in sport, and for good reason- the sport uses literally every muscle in your body, often at altitude, all while sliding on a slippery surface with skinny skis and no metal edges. It's insane that some people make it look so easy while racing at 100%. If you're interested in trying out Nordic skiing for the first time (skate or classic), I highly recommend looking into the Bogus Basin Passport Program, it's an affordable way to try the sport without a high initial investment.
Shop Ops-
Thank you to everyone who has checked in with our progress on the new building. We are still working through some holdups with the permitting process, but every day we get closer to finishing this historic property. My best guess at this point is a move-in date around New Years.
Gear that Caught Our Attention-
Our popular Podium Tee's are back in stock and on sale with free shipping for today only. Use shipping code "CyberMonday" for free shipping on any of our casual wear.
If You Have a Few Moments to Spare-
Need a winter trainer distraction? The bizarre and amazing sport of Japanese Keirin racing is all about full contact cycling, gambling, and sprint finishes.
Have a great week!
