The Tri Town Times: 4/13/20

Hi all,

Thank you for the outpouring of support last week. This community is amazing, and there is little doubt we will get through this together.

Here is your weekly TT Times newsletter:

Events We're Looking Forward To:
While many events/races will be cancelled for 2020, it looks like the largest bike race in the world, the Tour de France, is looking to postpone instead of cancel.

Training Thoughts and Updates:
Very fascinating to see wind tunnel and aerodynamic research, typically reserved for performance testing, used to determine a safe distance from others while exercising. Most "social distancing" recommendations have been for people who are standing still, and do not take into account the slip stream effect while moving quickly. The results of the study? Avoid exercising directly in someone's slip stream (stagger yourselves), or maintain a larger distance behind the person in front of you (i.e. triathlon drafting distances).

Gear That Caught Our Attention:
Right when people typically begin riding outside, indoor cycling has registered a 64% increase according to Garmin stats.

Shop Ops:
Does your bike need some attention? Use our free Mobile Pickup/Delivery service on Mondays and Thursdays. Schedule here.

Popular Social Post:
Julian Alaphilippe, the most exciting athlete of last year's Tour de France, also has some impressive dance moves.

Quote that Struck a Chord:
"Do not seek to have everything that happens happen as you wish, but wish for everything to happen as it actually does happen, and your life will be serene." -Epictetus

If You Have a Moment to Spare:
Many of us have gone to purchasing our necessary supplies online. This interesting infographic shows the fastest growing (and declining) e-commerce categories during the time of COVID-19.

Have a great week!
