Ironman Western Australia Winners; Upcoming Ironman Indian Wells Sells Out; New Ironman Quick Reference Guide Released.
Hi all,
Here is your weekly TT Times newsletter:
Weekend Race Report-
2x Olympic gold medalist Alistair Brownlee of Great Britain and Teresa Adams of New Zealand won Ironman Western Australia yesterday. Both athletes solidified their start at the 2020 World Championship race in Kona, with Alistair in particular hoping to improve upon his 21st place finish just a couple months ago.
Events We're Looking Forward To-
A group of locals and I will be racing at the sold out 70.3 Indian Wells on Sunday. This season-finale event has a cold reservoir swim, a flat and fast bike, and punchy golf course run.
Training Thoughts and Updates-
If you're beginning to think about your 2020 race season, you may notice Ironman recently added a handy, quick reference feature on their race website: you can now quickly get a handle on a course's profile, average air and water temperature, and nearest airport.
Popular Social Post-
I'll never complain about having to share a lane at the YMCA pool again!
Quote that Struck a Chord-
“Amateurs practice until they get it right; Professionals practice until they can’t get it wrong.” -Harold Craxton
If You Have a Moment to Spare-
Scientist have for the first time measured a blue whales heart rate. With a recorded low HR of 2 beats per minute, and a high in the mid-30's, the stroke volume and range of a blue whale's heart is simply phenomenal.
Have a great week!
