Hi all,

Here is your weekly TT Times newsletter:

Weekend race report:
A busy weekend for racing (the Ironman corporation alone hosted 11 races around the world this weekend). Most relevant to our region:

- Powerful thunderstorms hammered the 70.3 World Championships in St. George, Utah. The storms did nothing to slow down Lucy Charles, who led wire to wire and won by over 8 minutes. Gustav Iden, the reigning 70.3 world champion, won the men's race in dominant fashion with a 4 minute margin of victory.

- I counted almost 20 local athletes competing in St. George this weekend. All athletes finished strong despite the conditions, with Liza Rachetto and Carolyn Olsen both finishing on the podium in their respective age groups. Full results here.

- 70.3 Washington was also a wet affair in Maple Valley yesterday. Almost 30 local athletes were competing, with Suzanne Squires winning her age group, and fast couple Annamarie Hofstetter and Kenny McDaniel both taking 3rd in their respective age groups. Full results here.

- The Super League Championship Series is in full swing now- with a race every weekend during the month of September. These races are the most exciting events in triathlon, and great for watching while riding the trainer.

Training thoughts:
The Norwegians have risen to dominance in the triathlon world. This podcast with the head coach of Kristian B and Gustav Iden is an excellent review of solid, grounded training principles (show notes available in link as well as podcast).

Shop ops:
The annual Tri Swap is October 2nd and 3rd. We have hosted this swap and store sale for over 8 years, and it continues to be a popular way to buy or sell used and new gear. Remember to drop off your gently used gear the week of the swap: anytime between September 27th and October 1st.

Quote that struck a chord:
"Compete with yourself and root for everybody else." - Candice Millard

If you have a moment to spare:
The Ironman World Championships have already been moved from October 2021 to February 2022, and there is a chance it may not take place in Kona.

Have a great week!
