Hi all,

This is Tri Swap week! Drop off your used swim, bike, or run gear at our shop anytime this week. Sale starts Saturday at 10am.

Weekend Race Report-
- Helle Frederiksen won 70.3 Vichy in France this weekend, with our Boise transplant Jocelyn McCauley in a close second place. Congrats Jocelyn!
- The next generation of triathletes represented well at USAT Junior Nationals, with local up and comer Molly Elliott taking top 10 in the junior elite field. Congrats Molly!

Events We're Looking Forward To-
The Ironman 70.3 World Championships is this weekend in Nelson Mandela Bay, South Africa. The women's race is Saturday, Sept 1st, and the men's race is Sunday. Congrats to the locals who have qualified and are traveling this week to race:
- Adam Franklin
- Brian Devlin
- Tanya Turner

Training Thoughts and Updates-
I've struggled with muscle cramps while training/racing over the years, and have a buddy who cramps up so often we've affectionately named him "Crampahontas". The common belief is that electrolyte imbalance is the cause, but the evidence doesn't support that as the sole cause of cramps. Famous tri coach Joe Friel shares some thoughts on cramping here, and a much deeper dive can be found from "The Science of Sport" crew here.

Shop Ops-
After the Tri Swap we adjust our open hours to our "Fall Schedule". We'll be closing one hour earlier on weekdays at 6pm starting Tuesday, September 4th.

Popular Social Post-
Not a social media post perse, but the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Triathlon course was revealed recently. This will be the first Olympic Games to host a mixed relay triathlon event- with 2 men and 2 women from each country completing a 300m swim, a draft-legal 7.4k bike, and a 2k run. The event promises to be exciting and very fast paced.

Quote that Struck a Chord-
A person’s success in life can usually be measured by the number of uncomfortable conversations he or she is willing to have.” - Tim Ferris

If you have a few moments to spare-
Visualizing success doesn't get any better than this.

Have a great week!
