The Tri Town Times: 5/13/19

Summer hours in effect; USAT and USA Cycling join forces; Playing for Purpose

Hi all,

Here is your weekly TT Times update:

Weekend Race Report-

- Congrats to everyone who raced the Santa Rose Ironman. Results here.

- Holly Lawrence continues a dominate comeback season: she backed up her North American Championship 70.3 win at St. George last week with another win this weekend at the Asia-Pacific Championships in Vietnam. Patrick Lange won the men's race and showed he's in good form to defend his Ironman World Champion title.

Events We're Looking Forward To-

- We have our Grand Opening back on the books! Please join us Saturday, May 25th for a store wide event with guest speakers, group workouts, give aways, and special pricing on select gear. We'll post a detailed breakdown of the event in next week's Tri Town Times.

- 70.3 Hawaii is June 1st.

- The Lyle Pearson 100 Time Trial is June 1st. The race is not sold out and a great primer for Ironman and 70.3 racing.

Training Thoughts and Updates-

- Interested in living to a ripe old age? Stay active.

- Join us at 6pm at Quinn's pond for a group open water swim and run workout. The water is around the mid-50's. Wetsuits, thermal caps, and ear plugs are highly recommended.

Shop Ops:
Summer hours are in effect:

- 10am-7pm Monday - Friday

- 10am-4pm Saturday

- Closed Sunday

Gear that Caught Our Attention-
USA Triathlon and USA Cycling join forces to cross promote sanctioned races and increase racing opportunities for both groups.

Popular Social Post-
So many things about this 'team car' seem wrong...

Quote that Struck a Chord-
Sometimes when finding yourself over-analyzing a race, workout, or training data, it can be helpful to remember the wise words of Chuck Palahniuk:

"The trick to forgetting the big picture is to look at everything close up."

If You Have a Moment to Spare-
I've had to pleasure to work with Sam Kristensen for over 4 years. He is one of the few people that truly gives back to others and the sport through his brand, "Playing for Purpose".

Have a great week!
