Weekend race report:
- Heather Jackson won Ironman Florida on the back of a strong bike/run combination. Local pro Jocelyn McCauley took 4th place overall despite a broken wrist. Gustav Iden, the reigning 70.3 World Champion, won the race in course record time in a close battle with Lionel Sanders.
- 30,000 people ran the NYC Marathon yesterday. Kenyans Peres Jepchirchir and Albert Korir won the women's and men's New York City Marathon. Jepchirchir is the first athlete to win NYC's marathon and Olympic gold medal in the same year.
- Molly Seidel, racing with two broken ribs (this is becoming a theme) managed to break the American record at NYC with a 2:24:42, taking 4th place.

Pro Russian triathlete Igor Polyanski has admitted to doping with EPO at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He will serve a 3 year ban (reduced from 4 years for admitting to the charges). Igor is the younger brother of pro triathlete Dmitry Polyanski. Both Igor and his brother have been decisive players on the international triathlon scene for the last 10+ years.
