New for 2024 and launched to the public on July 4, 2024. The Cervelo P5 receives a vareity of subtle updates to the already enviable platform.
The basebar has 10cm of drop to reduce frontal area while in the braking and climbing position, while the innovative one-piece front end simplifies assembly and adjustment. The basebar can be stacked up to 40mm based on personal comfort, with adjustments made in 10mm increments. The new riser allows tilt adjustment from 0 to 30 degrees in 5-degree increments. Aerobar stack height is a simple adjustment taking only seconds to make with the turn of a single bolt. Overall the P5 is one of the mechanically most reliable and adjustable super bikes on the market.
Triathletes will appreciate the array of storage solutions, including two separate bento-boxes and an integrated rear hydration mount.
For frame sizing, a size 61cm has been added to ensure a perfect fit for taller riders. We have found the 61cm size ideal for riders around 6'2'' and up.
In regards to overall comfort, the seat stay has been redesigned to reduce vertical stiffness by approximately 22%, without compromising lateral stiffness crucial for power transfer. The armrest are now wider, taller, and thicker armrests and pads, boosting confidence and control.
Wide tire clearance is a priority for most athletes today, and the new frame now features clearance for 34mm tires on wide rims, it enhances aerodynamics and reduces rolling resistance.
Aerodynamically, the new P5 frame saves about a watt compared to its predecessor, with ample clearance for the Reserve 77/88 wheelset paired with Vittoria’s 29mm tire, saving an additional 4 watts for a total system improvement of approximately 5 watts.
The P5 is also one of the lightest "super bikes" on the market, coming in just above 20 lbs on the Dura Ace model in a size 54cm.
