Zipp XPLR S – Engineered for Modern Gravel Performance
The Zipp 303 XPLR S is purpose-built for gravel, using a wide 32 mm internal hookless carbon rim and a 54 mm depth to maximize tire support, stability, and aerodynamic efficiency with high-volume gravel tires.
Rim Internal Width – 32 mm
One of the widest gravel rims available, offering key advantages:
Improved aerodynamics: Minimizes the typical aero penalty of wide gravel tires.
Enhanced handling: Rim width better supports the tire, increasing stability and predictability in corners.
Rim Depth – 54 mm
Deep enough to provide meaningful aero gains without compromising handling in crosswinds.
Tire Compatibility & Pressure
Zipp maintains a list of approved tires -here- including Goodyear XPLR models developed alongside the wheels. General guidelines:
Tire Width: Designed to work with ~40–60 mm (1.6–2.4") tubeless, hookless-compatible tires, even if not on the official list.
Pressure Range: Max 50 psi (3.45 bar). Testing shows stable performance at lower pressures of around 20–25 psi depending on setup
