SRAM has dramatically improved braking performance with this version of the Rival drivetrain. The controls were redesigned with a higher brake lever pivot, so stopping from the hoods uses 80% less effort than before. An increase in Reach Adjust range has also eliminated the possibility of finger pinching under hard braking. Overall, the SRAM Rival AXS E1 shifter/brake lever set is lighter weight, more powerful braking, and a better fit for a wider range of hand sizes.
