Now down to business:

Events We're Looking Forward To-
Grand Fondos are one of the fastest growing cycling categories. And justifiably so, as these low-stress events take participants on beautiful roads and routes that highlight the best rides a community has to offer (i.e. The 4 Summit Challenge).

Grand Fondo Hincapie is the newest event on the local calendar, scheduled for July 14th. Word is Lance Armstrong, if not too busy with his new VC business, will make an appearance to join his old team mate for the inaugural event.

Training Thoughts and Updates-
  • A fascinating look by top triathlon coach Jim Vance into the power numbers (both bike and run) of Ben Kanute's world class performance at the 2018 70.3 World Champs.
  • A short article on muscle recovery techniques, and a good reminder that sleep is still the best and most obvious way to promote recovery.

Popular Social Post-
A valiant first rap effort by the Astana pro cycling team, but I don't think it will usurp the one true Classic.

Quote that Struck a Chord-
"I have not failed, I've just found 10,000 ways that don't work." Thomas A. Edison.

If you have a few moments to spare-
A cool 20min video from Wired about the 1hr record, and why it may be impossible to cover 60k in an hour.

Have a great week!
